AFT-PA Convention

CCEU members believe it is essential that the PFT send full delegations to the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and AFT-PA conventions that are held in alternate years.  Delegates to the state and national conventions ensure that the members of the PFT have a voice in determining the policy direction of our state and national unions. CCEU members in the PFT leadership have a long history of participation and leadership at the state and national levels.

Delegates propose resolutions, participate in amending language through open debates in committees and on the convention floor, vote on resolutions, and elect the leadership of the state and national unions.

At the conventions, delegates have a unique opportunity to learn about what is happening in other locals, share, build networks, and develop leadership skills. 

The CCEU always runs a slate for delegate positions in PFT elections.
