Collective Bargaining Agreement for the
​Pittsburgh-Mt. Oliver Intermediate Unit #2

The Pittsburgh-Mt. Oliver Intermediate Unit #2 (PMOIU#2) is one of twenty-nine intermediate units across Pennsylvania that add services to the 501 school districts, and 2,400 non-public schools in the commonwealth. The Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Public Schools governs the PMOIU #2.

The Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers Local 400 represents the teachers and other professional employees of the PMOIU #2. Negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement are currently underway.

The CCEU leadership in the PFT is responsible for negotiating an excellent contract with similar strong provisions embodied in the Professional contract between the district and the PFT.

Key provisions of the current PMOIU#2 Professional contract include:
  • A 189-day work year with 9 professional development/clerical days
  • A seven-hour day with a ½ hour lunch and ½ hour preparation period
  • The right to due process
  • A multi-level grievance procedure
  • Seniority rights and layoff provisions
  • Personnel file procedures
  • Excellent Leaves of Absence benefits including sick leave, personal leave, and bereavement leave
  • Excellent fringe benefits, including health care plans, dental insurance, post-retirement health care and severance pay
  • Competitive salary schedules
  • Advance study/advanced degrees salary credit
  • Longevity increment.
